Great Blue Heron - Birds of Pennsylvania - 1929

Great Blue Heron eats fish as its principal food. They often await for the best condition of the tide which bests suits their experience and instinct. If its a large fish, the Great Blue Heron beats it to death, and swallows from the head descending.
