Hydnum Caput Medusae - Harper Publishers - 1895

Hydnum Caput Medusae is most commonly found on the trunks of trees, especially beech, from the month of July to October. This species is known to have a sweet and aromatic taste, but slightly pungent. Long soft spines cover the entire exposed portion of the fungus.
