Toulouse-Lautrec poster reading The Revue Blanche, bimonthly, 60 centimes a copy, 12 francs a year; 1 rue Lafitte, Paris; published by Charpentier & Fasquelle, 11 rue de Grenelle. - Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (French; 1864-1901): Indefatigable sketcher of Parisian night life and lowlife; influenced by Degas and Japanese art; painter and (from about 1893, prodded by Ibels) lithographer; exerted widespread influence (especially on the young Picasso); his world-famous posters, menus and invitations were printed in very small quantities, and originals have long been exceedingly rare.
