Night Hawk - Birds of Pennsylvania - 1945

Night Hawk and the Whip-poor-will are generally regarded as the same bird, but it can readily be seen by referring to the picture that they differ greatly. The Whip-poor-will has no white spot on the primaries, while the Night Hawk has a well marked white spot on the five outer primaries.
