Pileated Woodpecker - Birds of Pennsylvania - 1951

Pileated Woodpecker is the largest of all Pennsylvania woodpeckers and is found at all seasons. These birds feed largely on bettles and their larvae, which are very abundant in dead trees. Wild grapes, berries, and acorns are also eaten.
