Ruddy Duck - Birds of Pennsylvania - 1963

Ruddy Duck is a winter resident of Pennsylvania. This species vaires greatly in its plumage, but can easily be recognized by its long stiff tail, which when swimming, is carried up high. Its food consists of seeds, roots and stems of grasses, and other aquatic plants.
